“This piece was inspired by the incredible women who are part of the artisanal cloth dyeing industry in Nigeria and across Africa. Their craft, and the income it generates, plays such an important role in supporting their families. The name ‘Botanical Elegance’ comes from the indigo used in the dyeing process, which is derived from plants. Through this painting, I hope to bring attention to these age-old traditions and help the audience appreciate the beauty and significance of their work.”
