ABOUT UNX.ART & ITS FOUNDER

With a rich heritage of blending Algerian and French roots, Sarah Hachi-Duchene, founder of unx.art, resides in Nigeria, where she has gained renown as a visionary curator of contemporary art from Africa.

Through unx.art, she unveils unexpected contemporary art that challenges conventions and mesmerizes with its singular aesthetic. Sarah's curation methodology is deeply personal, connecting with artists in their studios, fueled by her commitment to spotlight the unseen and tell the artists' genuine narratives.

Renowned for her uncanny ability to discover talent, she procures early access to artists across Africa that are yet to be showcased in Western galleries, forging direct and intimate connections with each creator.

Beyond mere exhibition, Sarah ensures full authentication and champions fair trade practices to sustain these artists, prioritizing ethical collaboration and nurturing a thriving artistic community.

A believer in contemporary African art's deep richness and ingenuity, Sarah founded Art Ubuntu editions to fill the void of documenting and championing contemporary African art. She directed the publication of the elegant 'Of Souls, Ascents & Stillness', an art book featuring 30 Nigerian contemporary painters. Art Ubuntu editions are distributed globally, including in renowned modern museums. knowledge, but also connections with many fascinating African artists, which she is keen to share with the unx.art community.
