Thierry Tomety (b. 1993, Lomé, Togo) is a Togolese self-taught artist based in Lomé. Working across painting and sculpture, he uses environmental materials to explore perception, emotion and the complexity of existence. Influenced by the philosophical writings of Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Gilles Deleuze, he approaches art as a language through which thought and lived experience take form. His work has been presented at the Palais de Lomé (Togo), Fondation Montresso (Morocco) and Art Omi (New York, United States), where he completed a residency in 2022. He was a finalist for the Ellipse Art Prize in 2023.
